Skinning is NOW CLOSED for the season! Thank you

The early bird gets the powder turn…or so the saying goes.

If you’re up for morning solitude and a good workout before the day really gets going, Terry Peak is happy to provide its season pass holders with the opportunity to enjoy our slopes even before the lifts start running.
Three routes are provided daily for skinning from sunrise until 9 AM. Skinning is permitted on Little Hope on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 AM until 3 PM (inquire with Ski Patrol regarding any additional availability on days when the Gold Express lift is not operating).
Skinning at Terry Peak is permitted provided the following guidelines are adhered to:
  • Skinning routes #1-3 must begin and end at the bottom of the Kussy Lift. To skin on route #4, you must sign in and out with Ski Patrol at the Patrol Top building.
  • Sign in at the skinning box located by the Nevada Gulch front door. You must include: full name, cell phone number, emergency contact w/ phone number, and state which route you are taking.
  • You must carry a valid season pass capable of being presented upon request.
  • Carry a cell phone that you can be contacted on, if needed.
  • Skinning is permitted after sunrise and before operating hours – NOT AFTER 9:00 AM.
  • If you have not reached the top of the hill by 9:00 AM, you must turn around.
  • Please follow designated routes closely (all routes are designated close to the edge on the skiers right).  There are employees on snowmobiles and snowcats access the slopes in the mornings, so please beware of the snowmobile traffic and grooming equipment.
  • For ascent, you may skin, use snowshoes, or hike. For descent, you must use skis or a snowboard.
  • Do not stray from designated routes. This applies to ascent and descent. If found skiing down on a non-designated route, you will be considered OUT OF BOUNDS and your privileges will be revoked.
  • Must sign out by 9:15 AM at bottom of Kussy Express.
  • If not signed out by 9:15 AM we will call you. If no answer, we will come looking for you.  If it comes to this point, you may lose your privileges.
  • Lack of respect for guidelines will result in more guidelines… or loss of privileges altogether.
--Have fun, be safe and if you have any questions, call Ski Patrol at (605) 584-2165 Ext. 251--
