LEGACY OF A SKIER
I’ve stood high atop the mountain in the wind and blinding snow,
Full of chilled anticipation, the challenge lies below.
I pushed my skis thru knee deep powder, felt the peace in time and space., The gentle turns came without thinking, as the cold caressed my face.
I came to know a deeper meaning of what skiing means in life,
A quiet understanding, a solution to the strife.
Now I have heard a higher calling, and my runs on earth must cease,
Rest assured I leave you sadly, but I leave you all in peace.
So don’t cry for me my beloved ones, it’s to a better place I go,
Endless slopes on sunlit powder, Gods a skier, don’t you know.
